Let me ask you…

What would you do if you didn’t care what other people thought?

What things would you try if you weren’t worried about failing?

What things would you say if you weren’t worried about being wrong all the time?

As a parent, one of our biggest fears collectively is that our children will do things out of peer pressure.

It’s terrifying isn’t it? But what if we could directly impact this positively by walking our own talk?

One of the main reasons I wanted to begin a business was because I wanted to model a new reality to my children.

I wanted to model something that wasn’t the “old standard” worker-bee life. I wanted to them to see and know – firsthand – the possibilities that life truly had (and has!).

Being a role-model to them was one of my biggest motivators.

So next time you feel worried about what other people will think if you were to do what you really wanted, ask yourself, what would you say to your child? What impacts will your changes (and taking risks) show your children about what is possible for life? (And if not your childrens, your nieces and nephews or even friends or extended family).

There are so many reasons not to start a business or not to do the things you really want, but don’t let other people’s opinions be one of those reasons.
